original BIFL thread that inspired me to buy Solovair.
i went with Solovair Gibsons. but then...
one of the soles starts splitting 3 weeks after purchase.
after sending Solovair customer service a link to my Reddit post, they offered to repair my shoe at the factory, or reimburse me the cost of having it repaired locally. to my surprise, the local cobbler patched up the split for free in less than 45 minutes. real stand-up guy, major kudos.
all in all, the boots fit well, they're comfortable, and now they're fixed. Solovair eventually offered to help out, which i'm thankful for. however, is Solovair BIFL? that remains to be seen.
TL:DR bought boots, sole split immediately, manufacturer offered to help, local repair guy fixed it for free.
