The only thing I knew of Coach was that my mom always had a Coach purse. She'd buy them at discount stores but she loved them.

Ten years ago to the month I went to Nordstrom Rack to buy some dress shoes for an interview because I had a blue suit but no brown dress shoes. It was much more than I wanted to spend at the time but I found some great looking and fitting Coach brand dress shoes for $100. This was about 75% off their retail price. I only wore them about once a month during the first few years of ownership but I've worn them probably 5-7 times a month for the last four years. When I do wear them it's for work travel so I'm walking through airports and usually all over my destinations. I'm sure I've put over 5 miles on them in one day on several occasions. I like to go for walks to explore the cities I'm in and that is usually fit in when I can without time to change so I end up walking a lot in these.

These were made in Italy and I'm now fully convinced that Italian made shoes deserve their reputation for quality. These fit perfectly and never hurt my feet. The shoes fit the form of my feet with no extra space, yet were not too tight. I've always liked the way they look. I was at a conference this week that ended up involving a lot of walking. The soles started falling apart so it's time to move on. Still, I have to be happy with owning a pair of shoes for ten years. Thank you Coach for making a great pair of shoes 10 years ago.

I didn't like the style (or price) of what Coach has online right now so I just ordered a pair of Italian Bugatchi dress shoes to replace them for $140 (also on Nordstrom Rack for a heavy discount). I can only hope they last half as long as these.
