Hello. I'm a 20 year old male living in Latvia, and this is my situation:
So some weeks ago my dad told me that there's a piece of land that is in one town near Riga (Main city of my country). There are two big apartment houses on the land.
My dad told me to talk to my mom about this cuz right now it should be on her name, but she doesn't want to speak about it.
Should I take action and see if I can still claim it as my land? What would be the benefits and the risks of claiming the land?
I've heard that the benefits could be that people who live on my land would have to pay me for living on it, so that would be some sort of income for me, but the risks could be that people couldn't afford to pay me so they would leave the apartments, and then I'd have to pay for land where nobody lives in?
Am I correct on these benefits and risks? What else am I missing out on this?
I am very scared to take a big step like this.
