I was trying to come up with some principles that summarized a frugal lifestyle. This is what I came up with, what do you think?

1. Use credit to increase productivity but never to increase consumption

2. Choose ‘maker’ instead of ‘taker’ hobbies

A taker hobby is a hobby where you consume:

  • Watching TV
  • Playing video games
  • Reading 'trash fiction' books

A maker hobby is a hobby where you build skill or create something:

  • Writing
  • Playing sports (building skills and relationships)
  • Learning an instrument
  • Woodworking
  • Photography

Maker hobbies will help you build wealth in the long run. You can use them to create a passion business and become satisfied.

3. Continually improve your own productivity and commit to lifelong learning

4. Vehemently fight against the development of unproductive habits

The company that can get you to idly stream through their articles can get you to watch advertisements. Every minute you spend scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, Reddit or other similar website is a minute of your life you won't get back. The average Facebook user spends an average of about 50 minutes a day on Facebook. If you could get an hour back each day, what could you do with it?
