I need to keep a good grip on my budget right now. The trouble I'm having is I also have been getting overwhelmed with everything that needs doing. So what ends up actually happening is - the house is a mess because I'm too worn out to clean, or I end up buying and eating junk because at least I don't have to cook (usually I'm going for heat-and-eat stuff here, like frozen pizza or box mac and cheese). Otherwise I end up not eating, which unsurprisingly doesn't help the fatigue. I have some food limitations, mostly textural, but most things are good - nut butters and bananas are the main culprits, although cooking with either is fine.
So I end up spending a lot more money on premade, or on buying things I need and couldn't locate in time, or something. I don't like it, but clearly trying to force myself to deal with it all isn't working, and neither my job nor my idiotic family drama are likely to change soon. Job's not really a source of stress, just obviously takes up time. Family definitely is adding a huge extra stress but there's no quick way to make them not do that - there's long-term solutions involving redefining boundaries, but I expect those to add up to even more stress for the next few months.
So in any case, I'm looking for frugal tips for handling food and basic household management when you're stressed out trying to do everything at once. It seems like just keeping myself fed and in clean clothes and keeping the floor picked up is taxing me to my limit.
I am aware of the possibility of mental health issues, but I'd like to avoid medication if I can. I've been on it before and by the time you account for all the side effects I don't think it would be an improvement at this point in time.
