Hello,We are moving into new house in few weeks. Measuring the fridge opening, it is 35 3/4". The fridge we want needs 36" to install (35 3/4 wide with at least 1/8 air gap) The fridge opening is 1/2" drywall on both sides with a single cabinet above. My thought is to tear out the 1/2" drywall and replace with 1/8" hardboard. If both sides were replaced, opening would be 36 1/2", leaving plenty room for fridge.Thoughts? Anyone tried this before? Recommendations on finishing the corner joints? Luckily, most of the work will be hidden behind the fridge. ;)Thanks for your help. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2EA5pa3
