So, I'm newer to the world of DIY so I wanted to get suggestions for a fix with my current project. I created a full coverage mask (around my entire head) and, I'd measured and designed it with eye-holes. The mask is basically done save for the last few steps in finishing and I've found that the eye-holes need to be plugged up. I put them on the actual eyes of the model and it just looks all wrong because I can't paint on the whites of the eyes with a big hole there. It was a poor design choice.I'm going to replace the eye-holes with a 5in x 1in inch mesh of holes that, from a distance, should be hard to spot. The trouble is filling in those old eye-holes. I'll need some sort of substance that will harden but it needs to be moldable so I can make it convex like the rest of the eye. The holes are a diameter of 1 1/2 in. and the mask is about 1/4 of an inch (5 mm to be exact) thick.Thoughts on the material to use? I considered wood putty but that is a bit too soupy. I also thought about letting the wood putty dry out a bit first but I've tried this before and the hardened result seems much more brittle when it's been dried out beforehand. Thanks guys for any assistance you can give. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2BMbP8i
