I am currently looking for a job and was contacted about a position. The first 2 years I will be hired through the contracting company that informed me of the job, and after the 2 years I will then be hired by the actual client company that I will be working for.

From what I have been told about the job, it is hiring 2 people to train up over the 2 years period with employees who will be nearing retirement in the next 5 years or so, so they are being very clear that it isn't a 2 years interview process basically, but hiring this way seems like it must have some advantage for them over just direct hiring or else why would they be doing it?

I have already asked about employer paid SS and payroll taxes and such and was told that I would still be a full time employee with the contracting company, but just not with the client organization until after 2 years, so I would still see pay the same way a normal full time employee would.

If this isn't the right place for this and there is a more specific job question subreddit than personal finance, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
