On December 1st I did my usual tradition of sending out some donations in the form of checks to may favorite charities (along with holiday cards, just feels more personal that way). Its always gone without a hitch, but one card appears to never have arrived. I monitor my bank account online and I can see it hasn't been cashed (it was for $50). That hasn't happened to me before. I reached out to the organization on Facebook and got a reply that they hadn't seen a check in my name but would check again, hopefully they let me know by tomorrow.

So I understand the thing to do when a check is lost is to do a stop payment - but my bank charges $35 for it and lasts six months at which point you have to renew it. Seriously? That seems a little ridiculous. How long would I have to keep renewing it? Is it worth doing?
