Hi all, I have this beadboard from home depot and I'm using it for the walls of a bench. I need to trim it down maybe by 1" in width and 2" in height. I've got a utility knife and a jigsaw available to me. I've been reading that if I'm going to use the jigsaw I need to score the cut first with the utility knife and cut it with the backside facing up using a fine toothed blade. I should also mention that my "workbench" is an old door placed on a couple of saw horses. My concern is that since I am cutting such a small edge off how will I keep the jigsaw and beadboard from bouncing around while I am cutting it? Seems like I won't be able to support it well and bead board is kinda floppy anyways. I have 2 spring clamps and thought I could clamp the beadboard to the "workbench" to make it more sturdy. The cuts do not have to be all that pretty as I will be attaching the board from the backside of a 2x2 frame so you shouldn't see any edges. They do have to be straight enough to attach to the wooden box frame without a bunch of gaps though.Thoughts on using a jigsaw? Does my set up sound good? I also have masking tape to reduce the splintering further. How about on securing the beadboard for cutting? Would the spring clamps be useful? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2DIB8GH
