Also:
- They can not ask a former employer what you made or what benefits you have received while you worked there.
- They must give a pay scale to you if you ask them.
- They may not use salary history as a basis for hiring decisions or setting pay scale (unless you voluntarily disclose, or you work at a job where your salary is public information)
Even though the state is notorious for exempting themselves and local governments from employment laws, this law specifically includes state and local governments in the list of applicable employers.
