Hey all,
With 2017 ending I have some questions about taxes. I have been investing since November 2016 and did not pay any taxes since I had a small gain/loss and I did not have a job and was below the minimum amount to pay.
For 2017: I worked over the summer and made 1,500$ (called a “stipend” if that makes a difference) and ended the year up a little over 8,000$ from investments.
So I am wondering:
Do I pay taxes this year?
Should I sell off stocks for a loss? How much does this matter if its only a small % above market?
How much would I end up paying ballpark?
Thanks in advance!
