Hi everyone,
I'll make this as brief as possible. I am moving in a few months. Currently, I live 28 miles away from work. I pay $12.5 in tolls a week (I have an ez pass - which gives incentives/discounts).
When I move, it will be to the next state over. My commute will be about 15 minutes longer (~50min). Instead of $12.5/wk in tolls. If I went through them all on my new way to work, it would be $10/day or $50/wk. My ez pass only gives discounts to using tolls in-state. One out of two tolls is out of state.
Currently: $2.5/day for 5 days a week = $12.5/wk. I work 220 days a year so I spend about $550 in tolls a year.
New commute: $10/day = $50/wk and $2200/yr... Pretty big difference.
TL;DR: Is there anything short of taking backroads to avoid the tolls? It would make a 50 minute commute about 1hr:20min
