I lucked out last time this happened and came across the money to pay off my debt in full. I plan to pay off all of my debt, but I’m currently between jobs. I can’t keep making minimum payments and then getting charged twice the amount, but I also can’t make larger payments.

I know there’s a way to get a sort of loan that I don’t have to pay off for a year, but have no idea about the process to make this happen.

Last time I almost did this, I went to my bank (BOA) and tried to figure out a solution. They told me to call a number, which I did at their office. Once I got to the proper person to help with this, the line disconnected.

I tried again the next day and the same thing happened. I feel like the people on the phone knew this was a tedious thing to set up and just disconnected me. Obviously I was frustrated to hell. Is there another way to make this happen or do I need to just keep trying with my bank?

Furthermore, the card I maxed out this time was my Chase Amazon card, not Bank of America. Do I just call customer service and they’ll help me? Is there a better alternative other than the banks I have the CC debt with? Any info at all would be insanely appreciated. If this is a common repost with a simple answer, please point me in a good direction and I can delete this if it’s wanted.
