The house has some asphalt next to the house at the back and both sides. The asphalt was put in to help with the water flow as the house is in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot during the winter.Naturally, due to the summer heat and winter chill, the asphalt has some cracks in it and also next to the foundation of the house. Next to the foundation of the house, there is space between the asphalt and the foundation, and the space is about 1/8th to 1/4 inch away from the foundation and the depth of the space seems several many inches deep.See here: http://ift.tt/2AI4Woj this be a potential future problem with water going in there and then going through the cycle of freezing (expanding) and then thawing?Ideally, I'd like to fill it and try to "seal" it somehow. I was debating getting sand and filling the cracks with sand and then sealing it with some type of concrete sealer. Would this work?Or is there a better way?Or am I worrying over nothing? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2krGHzU
