Small(?) question.
I'm currently working as a contractor. A payment I received recently was lower than I expected (I'm paid based on the percentage of work I do). When I inquired the employer showed me the breakdown of what the client paid them, from this amount they deducted a 15% corporate tax + 13% HST, then calculated my payment.
Is this standard? I understand the HST entirely, however I feel as though I'm personally paying their corporate taxes.
