I'm a 27 year old college grad, I make $41,000/year and I'm feeling panicked about the tax bill that passed last night. I currently rent which takes up about half of my monthly budget (I live in the city - have a roommate), I have student loan payments, and I have a car payment (the city I live in doesn't have public transportation).

I rely on my tax return for big chunks of savings and I'm scared I won't get one this year because of the new tax bill. I keep reading comments about how people who are in my salary range are about to be screwed over badly.

I'm especially worried because the field I work in (construction project management) can be very volatile during economic recessions/depressions. If people don't have the money to build or renovate buildings then... there aren't many jobs...

Can anyone help me understand what will happen to my budget? Should I move in with my parents? I wouldn't have to pay rent, but would have a 1.5 hour long commute, so 3 hours of rush hour driving.

Lately I've been thinking about getting a second part time job just to make an extra $100-$200/week - should I look into this immediately?

Any insight, advice, help, would be so very appreciated. I have an overwhelming sense of dread regarding my financial future right now.
