Hi all, long time lurker first time poster. My family bought a house three years ago in CA and I’m concerned about lead based paint. It didn’t come up on our home inspection but the house was built in the 50s, and I’ve been told by others to watch out for it. Recently I purchased a cheap at home tester kit which seemed to indicate lead paint on some of the original hallway cabinetry and the window and door frames. I’ve done some researching online but I’m unsure of the best way to proceed. I’m a handy guy, but I don’t know how difficult it would be for me to attempt to remove the paint off of all these things, and I definitely don’t have the proper equipment.
