Hi, I'm in the process of buying my first house (I complete and get the keys on Friday) So I thought I would introduce myself here whilst also asking my first question. I've been following this sub-reddit for while, and I'll probably be asking lots more things in future as I start working on renovating the house.I can't show specific pictures right now as I don't have access to the house yet, so for now I will just include a picture from the estate agents website. http://ift.tt/2hjdiKQ I'm going to want to do is take out the center of the chimney breast, leaving the two side pillars. This will allow for a cooker to be put inside with the extraction going up the chimney.I will have my dad helping me with the house, and he used to build in the 70s so he should have some good knowledge. As well as his friend who is currently working as a builder. So I don't expect anything to prove too difficult for them.I really want to start learning and researching how to do all of these sort of things on my own. So I would appreciate any advice anyone can give me. I apologise for the lack of information I can provide right now! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2Ahjkzk
