I worked a seasonal job at a restaurant in a ski town for 8 months (mid mud season - end of the season), longer then most people who just come for ski season. I was a very reliable employee, worked harder than any of my coworkers in the coffee shop, and often worked 14 hour days during peak season when the next person flaked on their shift. Im a little awkward but got along with everbody and bosses loved me.
Anyway, so I had talked to my boss about coming back at peak season for about 3 weeks to work. I would get a ski pass out of this, so its a pretty big deal, not to mention good money which I need. Its also a lot to ask, although they do need tons of extra help during that time. She had offered, but I don't know how to ask without seeming rude. Its a 4 star restaurant and cafe within a hotel. Can anyone proofread my email/help me?. Should i send a preliminary email asking how things are then follow it up with a request instead? I love these people so much even if I dont get the job back, i really dont want to fuck this up (love my coworkers, might work the whole season up there next year since I regret moving).
Dear [manager],
I hope everything is going well, I heard you guys are having a good snow year! I miss [restaurant name] and everyone in [small city name] so Im hoping to drop by when I get home from [current city] where ive been living.
Last year, you and I discussed the possibility that I could pick up some shifts during the month that Im back. I completely understand if this doesnt work out, but if the opportunity is still open I would love to come back and work for you again. Im up for any kind of work, and this summer i got more experiencing bussing tables, bartending, changing out kegs, and making latte art.
Either way, I hope to see you soon! [Current state] is nice but it doesnt really get better than [city that i used to live in. This is true].
My name
