Background:

Schwab Traditional IRA allocated between various ETFs: $20K - SPDR S&P International Dividend ETF (DWX) - SPDR SSgA Global Allocation ETF (GAL) - Guggenheim S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) - Vanguard Total Market Index Fund ETF (VTI)

Fidelity 401K in a Vanguard Target 2055 Fund: $21K - $4.8K allocated to Pre-Tax - $16.7 allocated to Roth

Ally Savings Account Emergency Fund: $11K

I am 25 years old and living by myself. My monthly expenses (rent, internet, electricity, cell phone, gym, etc) are roughly $1,500. I started a new job on 11/1/2017 that has a better 401K % match but my new company utilizes Wells Fargo instead of Fidelity. Below is a list of all available investments for my 401K through Wells Fargo:

  • Wells Fargo Return Fund F
  • Goldman Sachs Government Income Inst (GSOIX)
  • Pimco Total Return Inst (PTTRX)
  • American Funds American Balanced R6 (RLBGX)
  • JPMCB Smart Retirement Pasv Blnd Inc CF
  • JPMCB Smart Retirement Pasv Blnd 2050 CF
  • JPMCB Smart Retirement Pasv Blnd 2055 CF
  • American Century Equity Income R6 (AEUDX)
  • Delaware Small Cap Value Inst (DEVIX)
  • Carrillon Eagle Small Cap Growth Fund R6 (HSRUX)
  • Hartford Midcap R5 (HFMTX)
  • Jhancock Disciplined Value Mid Cap R6 (JVMRX)
  • Principal Midcap Institutional (PCBIX)
  • Vanguard Small Cal Index Admiral (VSMAX)
  • Wells Fargo/Blackrock S&P 500 IDX CIT F
  • Wells Fargo/Multi-Manager SM Cap CIT F
  • WF/Blackrock S&P Midcap Index CIT F
  • WF/T Rowe Price Inst LCG MGD CIT F
  • MFS International Growth R6 (MGRDX)
  • Oakmark International Investor (OAKIX)

My initial question is do I keep my old 401K with Fidelity and just let it grow or do I move it to one of the investments through WF? (Tracking two separate 401Ks is not an issue for me) Next question, which of the investments listed above is best to allocate money towards and just wait till retirement? I.e. not come in every month or so and reallocate portions of investments etc. Does the answer to this question depend on what I do with my old 401K through fidelity?

Every year in the past on 1/1/XXXX I would dump $5,500 into my traditional IRA. This was before I was well informed about the pros and cons of a Roth IRA. Therefore on 1/1/2018 I plan on dumping $5,500 into a Roth IRA but I am not exactly sure where and also not sure if it depends on what I do with my 401K situation (from above). Once again I am looking for an investment where I could dump money into and not touch it till retirement. I have thought about Schwab’s SWPPX and Vanguards VOO. Both are relatively the same. Since I already have a Schwab account and SWPPX has a lower expense ratio, I am leaning more towards that investment. However, I am open to all comments/suggestions.

I know this post is long so I really appreciate any feedback/advice. I just want to make sure my investments are allocated enough towards retirement while taking on risk (being that i’m only 25). Thanks!
