I’m mentoring a teen who has a terrible family situation and will graduate high school in December. She wants to move out (I think this is a good decision) and has found an “above the garage apartment” that we have checked out together and secured. She has plenty of potential and I’d like to ease the transition into adulthood, but still want her to struggle a little bit. I’m willing to spend about 1-2 grand to help get her established and plan to fill her fridge semi-regularly. What “adulthood” items did you especially covet/miss in your first place?
