Hi there 25/f/UK - I'm currently trying to change jobs but most that I'm applying for require me to have my own set of wheels.
I'm willing to factor this into a new wage but don't know whether to go down the finance route for a new, more reliable car which I won't technically own or buy a older model, something cheap which I can run into the ground but may be less reliable.
I work in third sector so status of a new car isn't important to me, and I'd be happy with anything that gets me there. The distance is too far to cycle and the public transport links are not possible as the job would require me to be in multiple places throughout the day.
I'm a confident driver for a number of years and have a good credit score, so I'm likely to be accepted on a loan.
Not sure what to do - any good/bad experiences with cars and finance or buying your own?
Thanks in advance
TL;DR: basically the title
