I truly know close to nothing.

Healthcare.gov is saying ill be paying $320-$400 for medium plans. My income is around 50k, I plan on my income bwing around 60 to 70k for 2018. I am self employed so that varies year to year but usually goes up. I live in an expensive city.

This is a HUGE hit on my budget since I have no employer benefits in my life and was wondering if this is what people are actually paying for health insurance? Do I have other options besides healthcare.gov?

Ive been to the doctor once in TEN YEARS to have an ear wax clog removed, I spent $90. I would like to go more frequently since I'm approaching 30, but its so hard to justify a Mercedes benz sized payment.

Any insight or suggestions would be great.

I have read/understand all the terminology and looked up what info I could find but none of it explains what I want to know clearly.
