My spouse got me one of the more expensive fitbit models for Father's Day this year because there was a great sale (regular price $150, sale price $89).
I then discovered that one of the sites I use to get discounts on gift cards would give me $1 in points for every day that I completed 10K steps.
It has now paid for itself. I am looking to get an even more expensive model on Black Friday (waterproof and built-in GPS) knowing that it will also pay for itself and I can sell my current one used for what I paid for it since it will be less than 6 months old.
