Dear DIY-ers of Reddit,I'm not sure how many of you have experience with this sort of thing, but with 13 million of you I hope that someone can help me out!I have a slight conundrum with regards to my home tap system. I recently remodeled my basement, and in February I decided to add a few taps to my basement bar. The system can be found here: Bar TapsI feel that the photos are fairly self explanatory, but just in case, the beer lines run out of the fridge via a PVC tube that extends from the side of the fridge before making a 90 degree turn. The tubing then runs through the wall before angling up towards a box that contains the rear of the tap shanks. This tubing was all heavily insulated, as you can see in the photos, as well as the shank box. My issue is this: after dispensing a keg from the system, and thoroughly cleaning the lines and faucets with BLC (then rinsing with water), I hooked up new kegs. During dispensing, there seemed to be a very slight off taste to the beer, and there was substantial foaming during dispensing as well.Now, all of the tubing that I bought is food grade, so I am fairly certain that this isn't the issue. My psi may have been a bit high, as it was around 13 psi for Rubaeus from Founders (a Raspberry Ale) and Oberon from Bell's (an American Wheat Ale).The issue, I believe, might be the 4 foot run of tubing that leads from the fridge to the taps. For such a short run, I did not think that glycol cooling would be necessary, as there is thorough insulation surrounding the pipe that contains all of the beer lines. The longest run behind the fridge is wrapped in both rubber insulation and aluminum insulation wrap.So, can someone verify whether or not this could be my issue? I have a potential solution if so, which I would also like verified. I did some math, and found that the volume of the pipes containing the tubing is approximately 1.39 L. With the box behind the taps, this could be bumped up to approximately 2 L. I found this aquarium pump on Amazon: Aquarium Pump. It's rated for an aquarium of 150 gallons, and their website rates the pump for a 100 gallon tank at 3.3 L/min of airflow. Would this pump, which approximately should pump out 5 L of air per minute, be enough to substantially chill a 2 L volume of insulated tubing?If you took the time to read all that, thank you very much!
