I recently moved into a new house and was disappointed to find the electrical supply located behind the dishwasher space was dead.Where the dishwasher is locatedThe wall cables I tested with a multimeter ...after having wired on a socket.I searched around for any isolator switch but the kitchen only has two and both do nothing to affect the supply. One is connected to my cooker the other is connected to a plug socket hidden inside a cupboard below it (labelled on the later photo as number "1").My solution is to cap off the dead wires and cover them with a standard socket plate. But since this means my dishwasher has no plug socket behind it the closest alternative is on the other side of the sink hidden inside a cupboard. My plan is to run an extension cable to the dishwasher from there.Diagram trying to show what I want to doTo couple the existing dishwasher cord to the extension cord I was planning to use a waterproof male and female connector.Questions:Do people think this is an acceptable solution? Is there a better route for the extension cable or way to contain it further to protect if from the risk of water? Should I avoid this solution completely? Is there a non invasive way of fixing the dead wire without breaking of tiles or making holes in the wall?Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xc6xgt
