Trying to chang out the taps on my bath/shower combo, thought it would be an easy job but I got stuck. Taps have been removed exposing the end of the stem, was expecting to see a nut I could loosen to remove the stem but I just see a threadded pipe. Tried to twist it off with a set of vice grips and it does not feel like it twists off but I didn't try too hard as to not damage the threads.
