In a few months, I'm going to have a lot of free time. I've never had this much extended non-employed time and really want to commit to simple living (for reasons having to do with mental well being as well as financial prudence).
I don't plan on traveling much if at all. I'm just going to be at home in my regular environment, but all of a sudden, for the first time, have nowhere I have to be. I plan to do some volunteer work, take a class, reach out to my network, and reconnect with friends/family. Maybe even try to create some stuff. I want to stay mindful, deliberate and practice gratitude.
How do I use my time well? How do I make sure I don't go stir crazy? For people who've quit their jobs and just sat down to chill out for a little bit, how did you make sure you stayed on track and met your simple-living goals?
Thanks in advance.
