We love the house we've been renting, but our landlord wants to sell and it is out of our budget in the timeline he has set to sell it. So I've been shopping around.
We have one girl and one boy, 7 years apart. We are looking at prices and considering downsizing to save money and eventually buy something bigger. We have found some mobile homes for sale for less than $10k on lots that rent for less than $200 a month. This would mean relocating and getting creative with space, but saving a lot of money on rent in the long run.
Do you think saving at least $300/month on rent and living in a smaller space for a few years is worth it?
Any tips and tricks on downsizing?
Edit: getting creative with space means the kids would either have to share a room or we would need to create a dual use sleep/living space.
