A new friend of mine, 62 y/o man, had a traumatic brain injury ~20 years ago. He’s very functional but has difficulty with complex tasks and ideas, and learning new tech stuff. He has been without cell and internet service for a few months and I want to help him get up and running again. Here are the facts: - lives alone in a single family home with Direct TV service, in Maryland. - has an old Galaxy Core Prime, which used to be tied to VW. He used to use it for browsing the web but usually with Voice Commands. - has Verizon landline - has an old Windows 7 PC which may or may not work; he’s looking into getting a used laptop though. So I figure we have two options: get him hooked up with VW again + DSL (Fios not available) — OR with AT&T and internet via Direct TV. Can his Galaxy be switched to AT&T? Or would either company possibly offer a new Samsung smartphone for signing up? My next step is to call them and see what they’ll offer, but figured I’d start by tapping the Reddit Knowledge Keg (TM). THANK YOU!
