I would put chair covers on my kitchen chair legs, which are made of hollow metal tubes. But the chair feet would just cut through the covers. So I found some old tires, cut to pieces, and glued them to the chair feet. I figure the foot covers, at least, will last another 30 years.
But how do I put pressure on the pieces while the glue dries? By putting a glass over the foot and putting a weight carefully on the glass. I'd advise using a plastic tumbler, but we don't have any of those.
