This is my first time doing home improvement and I want to make sure I do it right. I have the shower down to studs now and the floor down to clean cement. Unfortunately the guy at the hardware store told me to buy the green sheetrock. I've now figured out that I should use durarock in the shower instead. I have a shower pan that I'm going to install over mortar.After installing the durarock, I use the fiberglass tape and thinset? I want to make sure that will work with redgard over it.Do I have to take out the shower ceiling and replace it with durarock as well (I plan on tiling the ceiling because it's so low)? Or can I redgard over it?I want to tile halfway up the walls. Is it ok to do this over the existing sheetrock as there won't be direct water contact there?Can I put the floor tile directly on the concrete?
