So I have a magnetic air vent mount that works perfectly, no matter how hot it is. I recently had the idea of putting some magnets on the very end of my rear view mirror and mounting my phone there, to allow air through my vent. I thought this was gonna be an easy project but after going through several magnets and google searches, it has not worked.Through this project I learned that heat negatively affects the strength of magnets. So I'm wondering a couple things; First of all, why aren't magnetic air vent mounts affected by heat? And secondly, is there such thing as heat resistant magnets?I really want to pull this off and was thinking magnets would work easily, but I'm starting to figure out that this project may not be doable.Thank you. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xJcJ3k
