If a major hurricane is going to hit the gulf coast then you can buy the ETF UGA which invests in gasoline. When the refineries get shut down you can sell the ETF for quick profit. I was looking at it and if you bought UGA when Harvey was obtained hurricane status and sold today you would have made around 10% gain.
The risk is if the hurricane reduces strength and the refineries don't shut down.
