This is my first time posting on Reddit, so sorry if I'm missing formatting or proper etiquette.
Hello, I'm 16, and I'll go by R. My father is $9,000 in debt. My whole family was unaware of this situation, and we only found this out because a sheriff came to hand my father, who was not home at the time, court documents. The bank is taking him to court, I assume for failure to keep with his payments. I'm not sure what the debt stems from, or what he did to amount to that debt, but I'm terrified that this could follow me my whole life. My parents are undocumented, and essentially, I'm the only family member (and the youngest) with citizenship in the United States. I'm not sure who to tell, who to run to, all I can think about is the mess my father put us in. Any information, at all, will be much appreciated.
