I would like some advice on my current situation. I am a 22 year old about to graduate college in 4 months. I currently live with my mom and brother at my grandfather's house and I have to share a room with my mom which has been really hard. When I was 19 years old, I was involved in a pretty bad car accident and I just received a $40,000 settlement. I really want to move out on my own (I have never lived on my own) and I have found an apartment that I love for $675 month. I would also have to pay for utlities, internet/phone bill, car insurance, and groceries. My mom thinks I should just stay here until I graduate and can get a better paying job. I currently work part time and bring home around $1250 a month after taxes. Any advice? Should I move out now even though I will have most likely have to dip into the $40,000 savings because the rent is more than 30 percent of my income? Also, any advice on how to invest my money wisely?
