First off, I spent a good 20 minutes in the topics area of this sub and HOLY MACKERAL there's a lot of stuff! Even if I get zero response here, I'll spend a lot of time there! So here's my situation; I'm a music teacher and I've been tasked to teach a personal finance exploratory class to 6th through 8th grade middle schoolers. I'm actually excited about the chance, but obviously it isn't my area of expertise (my wife does our bills and has been a lurker here with y'all for a while). I have a text book, "Financial Fitness for Life" published by the Council for Economic Education. It looks like it will bore a middle school kid to tears. I was bored reviewing it. What suggestions do you have here for concepts appropriate for 12-14 year olds that would be exciting and, dare I say, fun, and will give them the tools to be responsible with their money in their future? Thanks for the help!
