Hi, If Im in the wrong place please let me know. So Im leaving the navy after 6 years. Didn't make rank ever as my rate (job) is locked up with so many damn people in my year group.

Got a job with a company (Raytheon) That will pay me double 40k...to 87k jump.

Ive talked to my wife and the suggestion for a Financial Advisor came up?

Its my understanding that they set up a profile for stocks? Im not sure that's what I want to do. I just want to better handle my money and make a budget? Is this the person I want to speak to? I'm terrible at personal finance.
