At my local grocery (not even an Aldi) here in the midwest, Large eggs were on sale for 89 cents a dozen. I've seen them much lower, but the tag said Sale so whatever.
Then I glance to my right and I find that Medium eggs (which I'd never even thought to buy before) are regularly 39 cents per dozen.
Now, yes, they are smaller, but only by like 13%.
I realized that the psychological value of something "smaller than usual" probably slashes the price way down.
Just wanted to share, in case this is useful to anyone else.
