(Trying again - mods didn't like my last post.)I have read everything. This is isn't well covered. I have a 2 year old deck that was stained with Sikkens Cetol. It looked great, but now needs to be redone. Sikkens is pretty clear that this stain can't be re-applied and has to be removed before it can be applied again. That doesn't work for me - I don't want to strip/sand every 2 years.I am fine keeping my deck and railings clean. What I want is a stain I can re-apply over existing stain with no issues. I tried a test spot yesterday with Sikkens - I now believe them. Applying it over existing stain doesn't look good.Somebody here recommended Armstrong Clark yesterday. Any pros have experience and can tell me what's a good base layer + maintenance product? Cost isn't an issue - I'm looking for the one I can re-apply annually after cleaning to keep my decks and railings looking great. Would water-based be a better option?Note that these will see rain 8 months out of the year and direct sun the other 4 months in case that matters. Wood is in excellent shape. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2hrAiXp
