I own a Leatherman wave that at some point was submerged into vinegar to get rid of rust and now has a matte texture, also it's rusted at some points. What would you recommend to put it into good condition again? The rust is not really the issue, I'll get rid of that, but the matte look (and feel) worries me. Does it mean a protective coating is gone? Can one fix that or substitute for it? (oil etc?)
