I'm in the process of finishing my basement. We want to put down carpet for the majority of the basement with ceramic tile in the bathroom and bar area. My question is this: Should I put down a subfloor over the whole basement area including the bathroom/bar, just subfloor the areas that are going to be carpeted, or forgo the subfloor altogether? It seems like everywhere I look online has conflicting advice. Our basement is dry and has no obvious moisture issues. We have a sump pump to take care of ground water under the slab and a backflow valve to prevent flooding. We are in Southern Canada if that makes any difference. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uUXn75
