So I'm 18. Got into a good manufacturing job. But while I'm a apprentice I don't make much. I save around $320/month after I pay my bills and have some to spend myself. Currently i live with a relative, and it puts a little strain on me since I gotta go by their rules and they kind of have a say in everything I do.
So I would like to save and in a year move out on my own. But I don't want to rent. I'm wondering what would be the cheapest way to own my own place. I don't need much. I'm very simple.
I was thinking maybe I can save up. And if I keep saving 320/month. I can have around 3,500-4,000 after a year. Maybe I could use this, to purchase a plot of land. And then possibly buy a yurt? Or build a workshop type building, and live in it until I finish my apprenticeship and make enough to actually build a cozy little house?
What do you guys think?
