I’m currently sorting through my kitchen cupboards & have realised that the majority of my ‘dry’ goods are around 6 months past their ‘Best Before’ date printed on the packages.

I have packages of dried beans, different types of rice, lentils, split peas, quinoa.. the majority of which are still completely sealed unopened in their packets.

Do these types of items ever actually expire? Or is it fine to use them 6 months past their ‘best before’ date?

I really don’t want to be wasteful by throwing everything out. I also really don’t want to buy everything new right now if I can use what I have without any issue, as I can’t really afford to, hence making this post!
