I have a tall, heavy, wood cabinet that's 25" wide. Behind it, there are studs 3" in from one side and 6" in from the other side (I can't change its location - even an inch). The wall is lathe & plaster (or laughing plaster as I like to call it). I live in San Francisco and am trying to install an earthquake strap. Would it be better to attach it to the stud that's 6" in, or to attach it from the center of the cabinet and use a toggle bolt in the plaster? Hope this is not too dumb of a question.I know that using 2 straps would be the best solution but: I only have one, I won't be able to get to the store soon, and I was hoping to get it done this weekend. Yes, I realize how lame that sounds. So, between the 2 options above, which would be best in a big earthquake? Thanks! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2ut24Z5
