So this is probably a dumb question. When I bought my house, I was told that the basement was recently waterproofed. To be honest, I don't know what that really entails - although I've yet to have any water problems down there after a couple of years.I think waterproofing a basement involves some kind of special cement application on the basement walls and floor (mine also has a French drain).
