I currently work as a Kennel Technician at a vet clinic which includes a lot of bending, twisting, sweeping and mopping, and lifting dogs that weigh up to 100 pounds. Whenever I was hired I told them I could pick up up to 50 pounds and they said if the dog weighed more that they would have someone help me but I'm there alone often so theres no one to help me. This week I was there on Sunday while we were closed and I had to bathe a 100 pound dog by myself and I was struggling lifting them out of the tub and I fell and slipped on the floor which had gotten wet while I was bathing such a big dog. I told my boss about it and she responded with the word k initially and then told me I should probably get new shoes. I told her I would have to play it by ear and I woke up with a lot of back pain and told her I couldn't make it in but I would be there the next day and she never answered or got back to me. I think I have to look for a new job because working for her is extremely stressful and all week I would work 730 to 1 or 2 and then go back from 4 till 8 or 9 and I wouldn't have a day off for 9 days and there's no way my back could have handle all of that without a break. Any advice on how to handle this job in the meantime?
