We are finishing our unfinished basement, and planned on using vinyl plank flooring. (This is the exact product we're looking at using.)I'm concerned about how to handle this floor drain in the laundry room. I've been told before that you can just put your flooring right over top of these floor drains, and they will still work fine. I don't want to seal it off completely because it sits right in front of the washing machine, and if it were ever to leak and this drain was sealed off, I'd be kicking myself for years. If the floor was flat/level I would just cover it up and assume it's fine. But the floor slopes towards the drain pretty aggressively. It's flat-ish for most of the room, but the 2 feet or so around the drain are sloped quite a bit. I'm concerned the snap-together flooring light buckle, or come apart because of the slope.Have any of you done anything like this before? How did you handle the drain? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Here are some photos: http://ift.tt/2tWR9XF black drain grate is 9 7/8" (about 250.8mm) via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uQnFrT
