Today I was finally able to take the last step and $0 balance my credit card. I had over $8K in CC debt in January, and looking at my pay stub today, that is about 1/3 of my take home of $24K for YTD. I owe a lot of this to my girlfriend for helping change my mindset about my CC debt. I had been paying a bit more than the minimum payments but not as much as I could have, and was still buying unnecessary items. It's been a ride and really makes realize how much of a waste it's been.
I'm still in debt with a car payment but this was just a really good feeling to have today. Can't wait for that last milestone and having a positive net worth. I was paying in total about $1,000 a month for CC and the car so I will have a nice bit of change to start investing and starting my IRA and what not.
